I was not–am still not–sure on which category to file this under, as this could easily go under the MILES&POINTS category as well, but I decided to place it under my general category on airline updates and travel chatter.
For many frequent flyers who travel on United, the United’s Outperform Recognition Program is nothing new. But I think many of us also forget its existence and that the nomination period continues to cycle by quarter. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the program, it is United’s way of encouraging their airline staff to provide superior customer service by recognizing 101 eligible United or United Express employees with a recognition award and cash prize. The grand prize employee winner will receive a $25,000 bonus. (Sweet!)
And for customers, it is another way to say “thank you” to the staff members who really go up and beyond the call of duty to help you out. And just for submitting an eligible entry, you also get put into a drawing, where 16 MileagePlus members will get drawn randomly for various amounts of United miles! The grand prize customer winner who submits an eligible story can win two roundtrip United First for domestic travel or two roundtrip United Economy for international travel. That’s like being awarded 120,000 miles at once! Nice!
