ThePointsGuy has a report that Alitalia is now honoring the Japanese promo code that I had posted about last week, and which was the talk of the frequent traveler industry for some time. Here is the letter from Alitalia from their Facebook page: Dear Alitalia fans,

Yesterday, I posted about an amazing deal with Alitalia where a likely fare mistake has been turned into a confirmed one. Hours after I posted the deal, Alitalia had disabled the promo code for the Japanese version of their website. Now, there are confirmed messages from other frequent travelers on FlyerTalk that have confirmed that their free tickets have been cancelled. This is a pretty crazy/amazing deal, and almost most definitely a fare mistake (which means it could be pulled at any time and there’s no guarantee they’ll be honored).
