Readers and fellow frugal shoppers,
It’s that time of the year again–when Black Friday advertisements are beginning to pop up everywhere! I have been using BFads.net to help keep me up-to-date with the advertisement releases, as well as using Slickdeals to just stay on top of any deals of the day.
That being said, the second page of the Office Max Black Friday (well, technically it starts Thanksgiving Day Thursday now) caught my eye with a get an instant $20 back for your purchase of a $200 Visa gift card.
$200 Visa gift cards generally come with a $4.95 or $5.95 activation fee. With an instant $20 back on your receipt, that makes this deal a money-maker. If you combine this with a Chase Ink Bold or Chase Ink Plus credit card, you will also get 5x points per dollar you spend since Office Depot counts as an office supply store. That means that on top of getting a $200 Visa gift card for possibly as low as $184.95, you could also be potentially making 925 Ultimate Rewards points ($184.95 x 5 points) off this purchase! If you convert your points to airlines like United Airlines, those points could easily be worth almost an additional $20!
Now, it is probably not worth it to line up in a line just for this card. But it looks like the sale starts Thursday (Thanksgiving Day), so it might be worthwhile to see if you can arrive early on Thursday just to pick up one of these money-making Visa gift cards. Keep in mind it’s limit 1 per person.
