MILES&POINTS: Earning points or miles while paying off your taxes using your credit card
4You have done your taxes already, right?
Because the deadline for U.S. taxes is Monday, April 15th! That is this coming Monday! If you have not yet filed your taxes, then get on it now!!
Depending on your situation, you may owe Uncle Sam some money on last year’s taxes. If you don’t, terrific! If Uncle Sam is paying you then even better! If you are paying Uncle Sam some money this time around, make sure you use your favorite points or miles earning credit card in order to maximize the amount of points you get.
If what you owe is less than $500, it is also possible to purchase a prepaid Visa/MasterCard/AMEX gift card from an office supply store using a Chase Ink Bold or Chase Ink Plus card and earning 5x points per $ you pay off!
In order to pay for your taxes online, go to IRS.Gov and choose a payment process to pay with.

If you are e-filing your return or form and need to make a payment, visit Pay by Debit or Credit Card when you E-file. Different fees apply to debit or credit card payments submitted via IRS e-file.
For full information and instructions, visit the IRS page on paying via credit card or debit card.
Note: If you file through a third party such as a tax professional or TurboTax, then chances are you were already offered the option to pay by credit card by your third party.
Note#2: This was really just a post to remind readers to file for taxes. I am sure (almost) all of you have already filed using your favorite miles/points earning card. 🙂 Next time I will just post the comic by itself.
