Lounge Review: Chase United VIP Lounge at San Francisco Westfield Mall
1Back at the end of November (and again yesterday), I had the pleasure of visiting the brand new Chase United VIP Holiday Lounge in the Downtown San Francisco Westfield Mall, located on the fourth floor on the Bloomingdale’s side.
The lounge is one of two shopping mall Chase United VIP Lounges in the country. My first impression was that this place was significantly larger than I thought it would be. I had originally posted back in the summer about the lounge opening on November 23rd, after I had saw signs for it on the outside. But little did I know that the actual lounge would span to be as spacious as it is.
I took some photos with my iPhone. 🙂
Check-in:
You are first greeted by the front desk receptionists, who were both very friendly and helpful. They checked for my Chase United credit card (I have the Explorer) along with photo I.D., which I was happy to show them. Each credit cardholder can bring in up to three guests with you. I happened to be guesting in two of my friends. Overall, the check-in process was very easy and relaxed. Took about 5 seconds to show my card and my driver’s license as a photo identification. They also gave me some delicious dark chocolate truffles as a welcome gift. (Sweet!)
Complimentary Beverages & Snacks:Â
They have everything from juice to soda to a variety of hot drinks! I actually took a photo of their menu selection to better describe and list the available choices.
Complimentary Gift Wrapping:
Each cardholder and/or guest is allowed up to two presents wrapped per day. (Although they don’t really track it, so you could potentially come in later in the day and get a third present wrapped, I suppose.) But it’s a nice little extra benefit. :]
Free Wifi
Of course, as with any VIP lounge, there is complimentary wifi. I have not personally tested out the speeds, but I am sure they are faster than your local Starbucks.
Ambiance:
The general feel of the room is very much like any office lounge—nothing spectacular, but a very clean and modern feel. The large screen televisions are great for watching football on, and there are plenty of seats. There is only a single stall bathroom, but when you’re in a large mall, that’s not a big concern in my opinion.
Conclusion:
This is a wonderful benefit of having a Chase United credit card–one of my least used cards to be honest. I’m a little sad to know that they will only be here for the holidays, but it’s still nice to relax a little during shopping at an exclusive VIP lounge.
Chase United credit cardholders can also bring up to three guests into the lounge!
Also–and I will post a separate entry about this–but if you are a Chase United credit cardholder and you bring in a new, packaged toy next Tuesday, you will get a pair of one-time use United Club passes! (That’s a $50 value EACH pass!)
