Instant Top-Tier Platinum Status for Le Accor Hotels & Status Matching With It
1I’m back from my trip to New York, and have been spending the day taking care of errands, mail, and work that’s been piling up, so my blog posts have been a little bit sporadic in terms of timing. (As opposed to the usual 9 AM and 9:30 AM Pacific time releases they usually are.)
Today’s blog post is a pretty exciting one though–especially for those of you interested in traveling more (or if you travel a lot as it is). This comes directly from Gary over at View from the Wing who just posted earlier today that there is a special link where you can sign-up for the Le Accor Hotels status program and automatically receive their top-tier Platinum level elite status automatically!
Here is the link to the special sign up page for Le Accor Hotels to get automatic Platinum status! Get in on this while it still works! Also, keep in mind this only works for new email addresses. So if you already have an account with Le Accor Hotels, use an email you haven’t already used.
What does this mean?
First of all, Le Accor Hotels is a large brand of European hotels, so if you plan on traveling to Europe, this is a great elite status to have in your pocket in case you stay at any of their brand of hotels. Among the privileges are free upgrades, priority/dedicated check-in, late 4pm checkout, and a free welcome beverage at certain hotel brands. Read more about the Platinum privileges here.
Second, for those of you who do not frequent Europe often, having a top-tier elite status with another reputable hotel chain is still something you can leverage towards getting you top-tier elite status for the hotel brand you prefer. You can contact the guest services of the hotel brand that you prefer, and let them know that you have top-tier Platinum level with Le Accor Hotels and you want to see if they offer a status match.
There are reports from other frequent flyers that Club Carlson will automatically match you status with their Gold elite status if you email them and let them know you have top-tier platinum with Le Accor. I contacted Starwood Preferred Guest services and while they will not automatically bump you to their top-tier Platinum elite status, they will offer you their standard accelerated status match challenge to get to Platinum status. That is, instead of the normal 50 nights it requires to get to Platinum status, they will give you Platinum status after you stay only 18 nights during a special 3-month challenge period! That’s less nights than it even takes you to get to their second-tier Gold status (which takes 25 nights)!
Top-tier elite status with a hotel that you stay with is always beneficial as you generally get free upgrades, later check-out, free internet, and access to club lounges (where there is usually free food and/or drinks).
I will personally be doing the SPG Platinum status match over the next 3 months starting in November.
Again, huge hat tip to Gary for posting this.
