This has been a pretty exciting week in terms of free elite statuses and status matches. Earlier this week, word started spreading in the frequent flyer community that there were links available to get automatic Silver Elite status for Marriott by going through the corporate contracts.
It’s a little bit sneaky, but essentially what you have to do is say that you are an employee of one of the corporations that Marriott has partnerships with. If you are new to Marriott, you can simply use one of the links below to sign up and get your instant Silver Status. If you are an existing user, there has been reports of success that you can just email (or call) Marriott corporate and tell them that you’re an employee of _____ and that you would like to be upgraded to Marriott Silver status as per the contract agreement. If you don’t want to go that route, you can still create a new account and just have your accounts merged.
The link has to be in the following format: http://www.joinmarriottrewards.com/account/silver/default.aspx?source=COMPANYNAME
- So the link for IBM is http://www.joinmarriottrewards.com/account/silver/default.aspx?source=IBM
- And the link for Accenture is http://www.joinmarriottrewards.com/account/silver/default.aspx?source=ACCENTURE
- And the link for the University of California is http://joinmarriottrewards.com/account/silver/default.aspx?source=UniversityofCalifornia
