Good news and bad news.
Good news: For those of you who follow my blog or visited via a friend sometime over the past 24 hours will most likely know that JetBlue has been running their mystery deal promotion since yesterday morning. The promotion ends later tonight (8:59 PM Pacific to be exact). You can still get in on that promotion (especially if you were mailed your own private code and it’s a high value).
Bad news: If you’ve been reading this blog you’ll also probably be aware that I posted yesterday afternoon that the $50 off promotion code was somehow giving incredibly low prices–as low as $7 for one-way flights from SFO to LGB (Long Beach). Even though the math didn’t add up, it worked. I was able to book one-way tickets from SFO to LGB and LGB to SFO for $7 each way for a grand total (including taxes) of $14! That was a steal! But as of around 2:18 PM Pacific today, that deal is now dead! JetBlue has caught on and has corrected their systems so that one-way trips only show a discount of $25 instead of being able to use the $50 for one-ways. The discount value also now accurately reflects the advertised discount amount, rather than giving sometimes even higher discount rates.
Amazing deals like these come once in a blue moon, and usually revolve around a loophole, price mistake, or just technical goofup. It seems that in this case, it was a mix of the latter two. For those of you who got in on the discount, I’d love to hear where you’re going! Feel free to post in the comments. And if you’re a foodie, tell me one of the restaurants that you’re planning on stopping by!! 🙂 Food is usually one of the reasons why I travel to places at all. (If I had the option of sightseeing/themeparks or food adventuring, I would definitely be the one food adventuring!)
