CREDITCARDS: Limited time AMEX Business Gold promo for 50k points after $5k spend within 3 months
0Before I start, I should note that I do not receive any sort of commission or referral from you signing up for this offer. The reason why I am making a post about it is because I think it is a good offer, especially if you are looking to jumpstart your total points/miles balance in the near future. That being said, if you have no immediate need (i.e. within the next 6 months) for a points/miles jumpstart, then you might want to wait for a better offer. (I have seen 75,000 as the offer for this card…although a higher spend requirement.)
American Express has decreased the requirements for their sign up promotion for their American Express Business Gold Rewards Card. Now you will get the 50,000 bonus AMEX Rewards points after spending $5,000 within the first 3 months of card membership, as opposed to having to spend the original $10,000 within 3 months.
This offer is not valid for anyone who currently holds an AMEX Business Gold Rewards card or has held one within the past 12 months.
The AMEX Business Gold Reward card has:
- 3x points on airfare
- 2x points on purchases in the U.S. for advertising in select media, gasoline, and shipping
- 1x point on all other purchases
- Part of the AMEX OPEN program; other savings and benefits apply
- Full access to all American Express Sync Rewards
- $0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then $175.
- Earn 50,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $5,000 within the first 3 months of card membership
- Here is the application link / landing page. (includes more info on the card)
- Membership Rewards partners include JetBlue, Singapore Airlines, British Airways, Delta, Air France, Hyatt, Marriott, and the Hilton to just name a few.
If you do not want to have to pay for the annual fee after your first year, you can always call and cancel the card. That being said, in the past I have always been able to earn back more than just the annual fee in just the AMEX Sync rewards alone per year. I easily save $200+ per AMEX card I have because of those sync offers, which is one of the main reasons why I still have my AMEX Business Gold card.
Now, it should also be noted that this is a business card. For those of you who do not own your own business, you can always register the card with the name of your business being your full name and you can use your SSN in lieu of the Employer Identification Number (EIN). In most–if not all–states, you do not have to register your business if you operate your business under your legal name. (This definitely being true in California.)
And if you have difficulty spending $5,000 within three months, keep in mind there are many ways you can bump up your spending without actually having to part with the full amount. For example, you can buy merchant gift cards (i.e. Shell gas cards or Chevron gas cards) or you can buy prepaid Visa/AMEX/MasterCard gift cards and simply pay yourself back.
Again, this is a great way to jumpstart your points/miles balance–whether that balance is just a little depleted because of your previous adventures, or if it’s low because you’re new to miles/points adventuring. If you do not see a need to use the points/miles for travel anytime within the next 6 months though, it might make more sense to wait for a higher offer. (Assuming you are okay with a higher spend requirement. i.e. spend $10k within 3 months.)
Here is the application link / card landing page. (Again, I do not receive any commissions or referrals from this link. It’s a clean link straight to the app.)
