Le Club Accor, the rewards program of European-based Accor Hotels, has been running a Facebook Discovery Game promotion for the past two weeks that I have been following. JetBlue just sent me another email reminder earlier this morning about their new Triple Points Promotion that is running now until November 15, 2012. Yesterday, I posted about an amazing deal with Alitalia where a likely fare mistake has been turned into a confirmed one. Hours after I posted the deal, Alitalia had disabled the promo code for the Japanese version of their website. Now, there are confirmed messages from other frequent travelers on FlyerTalk that have confirmed that their free tickets have been cancelled. Alitalia has sent the following message: Our anti-fraud systems have suspended transactions with credit cards or I.P addresses from countries other than the site where the reservation was created……. This is a pretty crazy/amazing deal, and almost most definitely a fare mistake (which means it could be pulled at any time and there’s no guarantee they’ll be honored). That being said, U.S. to Europe trips for under $300 roundtrip have been essentially unheard of for quite some time now.
